By submitting entries online at GetMarried.com now until October 1st, one lucky couple will have the chance of a lifetime opportunity; to win the wedding of their dreams, with the historic background of New Year’s Eve in Times Square, while sharing planning details and nuptials along the way with the Get Married online audience. The wedding will be witnessed by million people in Times Square and seen by millions of viewers around the world.

On New Year’s Eve 2011 before the annual Ball Drop, Get Married will host and broadcast live a truly unique and spectacular wedding event—Get Married in Times Square—for one deserving couple selected on www.GetMarried.com/Times-Square. As part of its mission to engage an interactive audience, Get Married will enable its online audience (www.GetMarried.com) to vote on key wedding elements provided by participating sponsors, including bridal gowns, bridesmaids gowns, tuxedos, wedding bands, wedding invitations and wedding cake. Each wedding component will be part of a virtual gallery of images and videos on GetMarried.com, providing information about the details its audience votes on, with the highest number of votes ultimately determining the wedding details for this extraordinary wedding in Times Square.

“We are ecstatic about hosting the very first wedding in the epicenter of New Year’s Eve excitement—New York’s Times Square—and we are looking for one special couple who wants to experience a true wedding adventure,” said Stacie Francombe, founder and editor-in-chief of Get Married Media. “Get Married promises the wedding of the decade and, with the iconic, vibrant and celebratory backdrop of Times Square, we welcome the opportunity to put one couple’s ‘I do’s’ in the limelight and in the hands of the passionate GetMarried.com audience.”

As the big day approaches, Get Married will fly the winning couple to New York City to meet with vendors, narrow their selection of wedding details, create webisodes showcasing voting options, and conduct media interviews about their unique wedding experience. The day of the wedding, Get Married will videotape the couple’s wedding preparations and various wedding elements—walk down the aisle, wedding vows, ring exchange, recessional—and by partnering with Times Square Alliance and Countdown Entertainment, co-producers of New Year’s Eve in Times Square, will broadcast it live for the world as well as on the large LED screens around Times Square. Immediately following the wedding, Get Married will host a reception for the couple’s friends and family at Hard Rock Cafe New York in Times Square.

“As part of this year’s global tradition of New Year’s Eve in Times Square, we are thrilled to help bring together two exciting celebrations into one magical and romantic occasion, both for the happy couple and the viewing crowd,” said Tim Tompkins, President, Times Square Alliance. “With the flashing lights and the unmatched energy of the excited revelers, this will surely be one of the signature moments of the 2011 New Year’s Eve celebration in Times Square.”

Real Weddings 2010 :: Marisa & Daniel 08.28.10 {Part 1}

On August 28th, we had the pleasure of working with Marisa & Daniel on their eco-friendly chic wedding. There are SO many fantastic photos to share {thanks to their awesome photography team, Craig Photography}, so this wedding will be a two-part series. The photos above are from their gorgeous ceremony and "First Look" session at Mellon Park.

The weather was positively b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l on August 28th! I don't remember seeing a single cloud in the sky - it was true perfection! Marisa & Daniel wanted a simple look for the ceremony - choosing white wooden garden chairs and a simple fabric draped Chuppah to set the scene at Mellon Park. The fabulous Mocha Rose team put together the Chuppah and dressed the chairs with hanging mason jars filled with local wild flowers.

Upon arrival to Mellon Park, guests were greeted with two huge tubs of ice cold drinks and a live guitarist as they waited for the ceremony to begin. The touching ceremony was officiated by the groom's aunt who traveled all the way from NYC to celebrate the day with them. After the ceremony, guests made their way over to Phipps Conservatory for the reception. Little did they know that they were in for a fun treat when they arrived to the reception!

More details of their day, including reception decor photos and a complete list of vendors coming later this week! Stay tuned!

Cute Restroom Basket Poem

We've all seen the restroom baskets that go hand in hand with many weddings today, but I wanted to share a cute little message that can be displayed along with your restroom basket. Our Sept 4th bride displayed this poem to educate guests that may be unfamiliar with the "wedding restroom basket". I thought this was so cute, that I just had to share!

"So happy you're here to share in our special day!
But should something happen to go astray,
Please help yourself to the contents within,
Use only what you need and leave the rest,
It may also be useful to another guest,
So repair the damage that may have been done,
Then hurry on back and join in the fun!

Compliments of the Newlyweds!"

Tip :: Print poem on a heavy card stock. Personalize the poem by adding your monogram, using fun fonts + colors, and then display in a frame that matches your decor.

Wedding Quilt Guest Book

I love this wedding quilt guest book idea from Style Me Pretty! A recent client of ours chose a quilt for their guest book, and as you can imagine, it was a big hit with their guests. Our clients chose to go with a pre-made quilt, where guests would write their messages on the white squares of the quilt (sorry, no photo yet!) with a fabric marker. The alternative to this, is to opt for the single fabric squares as shown above, and then after the wedding sew the quilt together. Both options are equally as fun, and can be a great way to incorporate something unique into your wedding day!

Tip :: Fabric markers work best! I recommend purchasing 4-5 fabric markers, depending upon the size of your wedding.

Real Weddings 2010 :: McCall & Stephen 07.31.10

On July 31st, we had the pleasure of working with McCall and Stephen on their beautiful wedding day. McCall and Stephen are two of the most fun loving people you'll ever meet, and on top of that, they are completely head over heels in love with each other. You just can't help but smile when you're around these two!

McCall wanted a classic, romantic look for her wedding, and I think she achieved just that! Everything from the details on her gown, the flowers, the cake, and the gorgeous backdrops that surrounded them - they all expressed "classic romance".

Their ceremony took place at Heinz Chapel, with the reception immediately following at The Pittsburgh Golf Club. The evening was filled with amazing food, a packed dance floor (thanks to Mark Zini), a heartfelt Father of the Bride speech (quite honestly, it may have been the best FOB speech I've ever heard!), and my favorite part of the evening...a sparkler exit!

What an incredible night! Congratulations again to McCall & Stephen!

Latest Review :: McCall & Stephen 07.31.10

McCall and Stephen hired us for Wedding Day Coordination...here's what they had to say about our services ::

"Completely exceeded my expectations!! You were so helpful in the months leading up to the wedding with any little questions I had, but I was truly blown away by how on top of everything you were in crunch time leading up to the wedding. The timeline schedules you put together were perfect and you kept us right on schedule throughout the day and night. You even had two assistants to help on the day of, which was a nice surprise! I can’t tell you how nice it was to know that everything was going to be taken care of and that things were running smoothly on the day of our wedding. I had been running around like crazy in the days leading up to it, and your services really let me relax and truly enjoy this very special day. Whether it was making sure the vendors were on time, providing your box of necessities (deodorant, scissors, etc.), offering a card box at the last minute since I didn’t have one, sending your assistant out to look for film, making sure the guest shuttles were running on time, getting people seated for dinner, or organizing our sparkler exit and even adjusting our timeline at the end because we were having so much fun – you were always there for us Sumer and we can’t thank you enough!! Definitely let me know if I can help in recommending you at any point in the future!! It was so fun working with you and I know you have a very promising career ahead of you! xoxo!" {McCall & Stephen 07.31.10}
